    Middletown Circus, CT is still looking for a Children's Circus Director for this summer...

    They are also looking for Teaching Artists able to teach the following Circus Skills June 27 through August 9 are the employment dates.

    -Art Room/ Puppetry
    -Acrobatics
    -Juggling
    -Stilting
    -Clowning
    -Balance
    -Unicycling

    Coyote Group in France is currently working on a kid talent show called "Qui Sera Le Meilleur Ce Soir? Spécial Enfants" that will gather talented children from all over the world in various artistic categories such as singing, dancing, magic and circus.


    They are looking for kids from 3 to 12 years old who could do original circus performances and kids from 13 to 16 years old who could perform in more complicated numbers such as the German wheel, the Russian Bar, icarian games....

     

    The show will be shot prime time live in 

    Paris  at the end of february on TF1 which is the First French Channel. It will be aired in  France , Switzerland  and  Belgium .

    All the travel expenses will be cover by our company for the children and one of their parents to come to 

    Paris  (Transportation, meals and hotel).

    The first issue of Pyramid, the Journal of American Youth Circus, is on its way to our members and contacts.  Those with an up to date US or Canadian mailing address in our system will receive a copy in the mail.  Others may view it online.  Make sure your paid membership is up to date to receive future copies.  Click herePyramid January 2011.pdf to see this issue.

    The scholarship application for the 2011 American Youth Circus Festival is now availible on our website www.americanyouthcircus.org at the bottom of our homepage and on the "Upcoming Events" page.  The application is due on February 28, 2011.

    Kevin O'Keefe (AYCO Founder) and Erin Maile O'Keefe are on the road again with CircusYoga! Together with teachers they have trained around the World since 2001, they will be leading In-School Residencies, Workshops, Immersions and Teacher Trainings from Colorado to Tasmania. Among those CY teachers who are AYCO members Maribeth Joy, Amy Cohen, Zoe Brookes, Amy Dawn Verebay, Perrin Boyd and Lilly Blue!

    CircusYoga embraces the principles of inclusion, empathy, connection and co-authorship through the kinesthetic practices of circus and yoga. It's all about how build our connection to self, other and community and involves lots of play, creativity and invention. CircusYoga Teacher Trainings have often been described as Human Trainings, infusing each individual with the tools to be more present, facile, playful and connected to their authentic expression. The training is ideal for circus educators, social workers and classroom teachers that want to be re-infused with the ability to connect to any group through lots of group games and co-authorship practices.

    A limited number of full and partial scholarships will be available for the 2011 Festival.  A scholarship application form will be posted by January 1 2011.  Applications for scholarships must be received by February 28th 2011. Scholarship recipients will be announced by March 31st 2011. Please note that, with the exception of day pass scholarships, no discounted festival passes will be allocated after this date.

    AYCO is delighted to announce that Chad Mathews, director of Flying High Circus at Florida State University is joining its Board of Directors.  Chad has been involved with FSU and the Flying High Circus since 1993.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from FSU in 1998. At the same time as he worked on his degree, Chad performed with the Flying High Circus on the Florida State University campus and on the road.  Within a short time of graduation, Chad took over as Assistant Director of the FSU Circus, obtaining his Master’s Degree in Sport Management at the same time.  He has directed Flying High Circus since January 2008.
