Outside the circus world, few people are aware of the stunning performances and fierce
competition that happens annually at International Circus Festival of
Monte-Carlo. Soon, that will change, and the international circus world will be
brought into the mainstream spotlight. To the Moon Productions, a documentary
film company, will begin filming in December of 2009, culminating at the 34th
Annual International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo. The film follow five acts
as they practice and perform in preparation for the Festival in January, 2010.
At stake is the equivalent of an Academy Award; recognition, respect, and a
chance for stardom under the big top. It’s the Golden Clown!

In conjunction with the Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo, Telmondis
(French audiotelevision company), and the World Circus Federation, the filming
by To the Moon Productions will follow artists in Germany, Holland, and France,
before filming at the Festival in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

Once complete, the film will educate and inspire a worldwide audience about the widely
overlooked and unique culture of the circus, a culture outside and beyond age,
country and time; that's what makes it so unique. The film will remind those who
have forgotten that an old, rich history of make-believe and magic still lives
in the art of the 21st century Circus and the characters who create it. Young
and old, rich and poor, conservative and liberal will all enter this door of
magic where hearts are opened, imaginations nourished, and differences
transcended.
